Blumatablo

You must have a dress to wear while running through fields of buttercups, one for clam digging on the beach, a dress with pockets for organic garden farming, a short one for mountain biking, a dress for shopping at the Co-op, one for meeting friends at a favorite coffee bar and of course everyone needs a dress for dancing.

Blumatablo’s vintage inspired dresses are created using a combination of couture hand sewing techniques and those of a sixties Singer “Rocketeer” sewing machine. The fabrics are currently a variety of luscious up-cycled cotton prints. Vintage trims and laces come from Lake Country Minnesota, from the artist’s mom who rescues them from forgotten corners sends said treasures to The Olympic Peninsula (along with a few chocolates) to become a part of the creative process.

Tamara Halligan is the artistic director for each frock as well as director and producer.  Ophelia, Aurora and Lark are her imaginary actors and muses who are hippie chicks, organic farmers and smart gals who love children. Tamara is currently attending the New York Fashion Academy in, of all places, Seattle.
